Soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Cook
So much has happened since I last blogged!! Most of you already know but I'm engaged!! I'm getting married to Paul Cook December 22 in the Salt Lake Temple. I am so excited it's not even funny!! You would think that time would slow down while i'm waiting for December to roll around but quite the opposite has been happening here in Wyoming. I can't believe that we are at the last of October!! This semester is just flying by!! Time sure does pass quickly when you have a lot to do :/

In about May-ish Paul and I decided that we would get married in December and ever since then I started planning the wedding. I had a dress by August, a temple date set and a place reserved for the luncheon all before I came back to school. Most of the planning was done before the end of August and I am so glad I did that because school has been non-stop ever since it started. My family has been really good to help me with all the loose ends and they have definitely done a ton for me! McCall has taken some engagement pictures for me but I can't post them because my Mom won't let me. ;) just kidding, I want something to be a surprise for all my friends!! So I'll have to post some pictures a little later.

Just FYI: The wedding is December 22 in the Salt Lake Temple and then we are going to do a reception on the 29th in Burlington Wyoming. There won't be a reception in Salt Lake. To all my friends in Salt Lake... I'M SORRY!! I would love to see you though when I am back in town sometime :)

I never thought in a million years that I would find someone like Paul out here in Wyoming!! He is definitely perfect for me in every way and I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with him!!

Summer is here which means I survived another year of Pharmacy school! I passed all my classes and am now officially a P3!! I only have one more lecture year and then I start my rotations, which is very exciting! This summer I got a job as a pharmacy Intern at Smith's. I'm a floater which means that I fill in at  all the different Smith's whenever they need my help. I sent out a fax to all the Smith's in the valley saying that I need hours and I have been getting so many phone calls and texts, it's been crazy! My summer is practically booked all the way till I go back to school in August, so I will be staying pretty busy this summer.

It's a good thing I'll be so busy because Paul is working in Casper, Wyoming and I'll only be seeing him every other weekend, I'm not very excited about that. He just spent the last couple days here and we had so much fun! We went to dinner and saw The Avengers (which was AMAZING) and went shooting out at Utah Lake, and just had fun with each other.

Here are some pictures from the day.

Spring Break in good ol' SLC

Aahhh, I just love spring break, it's such a great release from school. I went home last Friday and just lounged around for a whole week!! I seriously think that there is no better way to spend your spring break. The only agenda I had was a birthday party on Saturday at my parents house that I needed to be to... and that was easy because I was already there. Haha :) So pretty much I just hung out with my family all week and then on Thursday Paul came and met my family and we 'played' all weekend. (Played = watched TV, played games, and played with the nieces and nephews... nothing too exciting, but it was still fun) Friday night Natalie, Jeremy, Andrea, Nick, Paul and I went rock climbing at Momentum in Sandy. I haven't ever been in there but it was amazing! There were so many walls to climb and a nice little cubby to boulder in, I couldn't believe how big the area was. I was impressed to say the least. It's a fun sport, however I could have done without the shoes fitting so tight and harness riding in all the wrong places... but it was definitely fun.

I wish it was still spring break... but it's not :( Stay thirsty my friends.

Best Valentine's Day ever!!

So here I am minding my own business on the day of Valentine's, I'm talking to my roommate's as I'm walking out the door and I notice a big poster on my car. "Ahhhh!! There's something on my car" I scream. I run out there trying not to slip on the sheet of ice that surrounds our walkway, and lo-and-behold a giant candy poster board from my boyfriend Paul!

It was the cutest thing anyone has ever done for me!! We didn't end up doing anything the night of Valentine's because I had to study for some tests that I had this week. But we've got some plans for this weekend, so I'm looking forward to it!

My mom sent me a care package and a crap load of food when Andrea came and McCall and Ryan made me Valentine's that just made my day! I am definitely loved and I know it! I hope you all had a happy Valentine's day as well!!

Love you all!!

PS- My Dad's birthday is on Valentine's Day and I just hope he had the best day ever. He doesn't really like birthday's anymore because its just another day that reminds him that he keeps getting older. I love him so much and am so grateful that he is my Dad! Love you Dad!!

The weekend Ani came :)

So Ani came to Laramie last weekend and we had a ball!! She rolled into town around midnight on Friday night and we got all settled in and hit the sack. Then Saturday morning I had her help me get some valentine's put together for my Relief Society (cause I was just called as the Second Counselor). We went to the girls basketball game and got a free T-shirt, yay!!
Andrea, Melissa, Stephanie
Then we went shooting with a couple of my friends. I didn't think that I had that great of a shot when it came to moving objects, but surprisingly I held my own! Ani has always had a good shot so she impressed all my friends with her special little talent :)

Stephanie and Paul :)
After we went shooting we went bowling and just played around my friends house and just had a good time! It was so much fun to have her come and stay with me. Alright my family, who is gonna come out next?! I have plenty of room, plus who doesn't want to spend a weekend in Laradise? :)

Lazy Lazy...

Well my friend-ezys, this has been one of the most lazy breaks I have ever had in my entire life! Its been fantastic! I finished up the semester with pretty decent grades and left myself with some room for improvement next semester :) I went into finals week failing my Pharmacology class by 0.4% and the professors don't curve the grades... so I was a little stressed to say the least. Not only did I have to take the final, but I also had to take test four. So, I was happily studying for two tests late into the night on Sunday. I started studying Sunday at 5, went to a baptism at 7 then got back to it at 8 and kept on keepin on till 4 am where then I decided that I should get a little sleep. I woke up at 7 finished reading through my notes and went and took the two most important tests of my life to that date. I totally rocked them!!! I got an 87% on test four and a 79% on the final. I couldn't have been happier! If I would have failed either of these tests it would have cost me roughly 140 thousand dollars and an extra year in Pharmacy school. Chew on that for a while. I wanted to vomit all over my desk before taking the tests because I was so sick and I was just psyching myself out. But I did my best and it all payed off.

Now its almost the new year and I haven't a clue of what I'm going to do for the next two weeks. I have nothing to wake up for, nothing to do... its killing me! I sleep in till 9 or 10 every morning. Contemplate working out but usually decide to not. Get out of my pajamas around 3. Mope around till 7. Then watch TV for the rest of the night. I'm going nuts! I re-taught myself how to crochet, I could finish the baby blanket I started... or I should be reading the Wyoming government book that I have to take a test on next semester but I just cant bring myself to do it.

Christmas this year was awesome! This year was obviously different for me than it has been in the past but I really enjoyed it. I've heard from friends that have also been divorced that the first holiday is really hard to get through... umm, I must not have a heart because this has been the best Christmas I have had in a long time! I didn't have to worry about anything or anyone. It was just me and my family and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I did most of my own Christmas shopping on black Friday and I bought myself a super cute coat (at 5 am) a bunch of workout clothes (at 2 am) and also a new pair of kicks... They are DC shoes so I guess I'm a skater girl now... no, I'm not. I just loved how they looked!! Then Santa surprised me with the rest. I loved it cause after I went shopping I handed over what I bought to my mom and then she gave me cash for everything that I just bought! I wish it worked like that all year long!!

The Pharmacy program does a Christmas party every year the last week of finals so my two besties and I went out and found appropriate outfits for the occasion. I LOVE LOVE LOVE wearing Christmas sweaters during the month of December.

Megan Brumfield, Me, Melissa Jones
Some of the boys in my class thought they could out-do our Christmas sweaters by shaving the beards they had grown out during no-shave November into mustaches... They look pretty good but not as good as the sweaters. ;) The funny thing about this is that Landon has a mustache all year long...

Crafty Crafty:
Whenever I come home I swear we do some sort of craft, I love it!! This weekend we made wreaths for halloween. I think mine turned out so cute.

Over the summer I also repainted a night stand for my bedroom in Laramie... take a look :)
